So you want to volunteer at ColossalCon?

Here is some basic information about what is expected of you.

In order to be a gopher you must be registered for the convention. This can be either preregister or at con registration but if you preregister it will save you some money.

As a gopher you must be willing to work in four hour long shifts and be available before cosplay and the dance to help with set up. You will be done setting up prior to the beginning of cosplay and the dance. Also since we know how busy people are at cons we will count an hour towards your total time for each of these events. If for some reason you aren't available during these time please speak with the head of gophers. Cases will be considered on a one by one basis.

Gophers will have their registration fee refunded to them when their hours are completed. Amount of refund is based from how many hours worked. Performance will effect your registration refund, so we're expecting actual help, not just standing around filling a position. Enthusiasm or excitement for the con is a good thing!!

Examples of what type of work will be expected out of the gophers are as follows: checking for badges at the various con functions, helping set up any of the con rooms, helping keep the video rooms running, taking things to/fetching things for various staff members, helping at registration, helping in the staff room, helping out with security, and anything else staff needs to keep the con running.
