let me start by saying that yes this is the Video gaming forum but last year i was really disappointed at the Table Top Gaming room. i am a die hard table top gamer, it would be nice to see the room get back to the way it was the year before when people actually played games inside the table top game room instead of just siting around the table talking (yes talking NOT role playing). my friends and I ended up just sitting in the corner playing games in which others joined in, while there was just some people sitting at the table talking about things unrelated to Table top gaming. it would be cool if there was a Magic:the gathering tournament that was scheduled ahead of time so i can plan on going to it.

The big problem I can see with any kind of Magic The Gahtering type tournament is we're most likely not going to have any judges there. And with the rulebook that is M:tG, handling disputes may be an issue.
Other than that, are you looking for more D&D type stuff or more board games?

a set D&D would be nice or even other RP games would be fun, the Magic Tournament if need be could have rules listed ahead of time and to my knowledge you can find a DCI sanctioned(MTG Official) Judge online if you end up having it be sanctioned if not you can have someone like myself that has well above average understanding of the rules. the main thing that happened two years ago was someone was in the game room (there was only one at Holiday inn to my knowledge) that had a bunch of different games that he showed off to people in the room it was the first time that I played one of my now favorite games Settlers Of Catan

Most likely won't be out yet, but even if it were we'd run into the problem and expense of having to supply computers to run the game on. So PC games are best avoided.

there was nothing we could do about random people coming into the room and kinda sitting back and relaxing, it was a relief from the crowds and sometimes that room had about as many people in it as the hallways did

Just a suggestion, I'm sure that there will be a Brawl tournament sometime in the convention. But if possible, could we try to get two wii's, or cut down the life rate? I was going to enter the one at Ohayocon and there was probably around 200 people waiting, and it wouldve been about a 2 hour wait to play one round. Another Wii or less life's would cut the line in half, or just make the rounds a lot quicker.

Why would that surprise you? Through the glory of emulation and virtual console, the oldest system you would need to enjoy all the most old school games would be an X-box, which happens to be what we use.

So in the gameroom on Friday I saw two people playing a very strange game on the Dreamcast. It was using a Final Fight/Streets of Rage-style engine but it was Resident Evil 2. As in Leon and Claire punching and kicking zombies on a train. I didn't get a chance to play it and I only saw it on Friday. Anybody have any idea what this was/where it came from/ how can I get it?
