Alright, so my friend Marche has been talking to Chibi Jae a little bit over the past week or so. We have official times and we are working on official rules.
Times:
Thursday 7pm - setup
Thursday 8pm-10pm - TOURNAMENT!
Rules: (tentative and more will be posted later)
1. One song sets. exceptions: If there aren't that many bands, we could have everyone do another song if time permits.
2. All instruments must be used, but you can have 3 members if someone wants to sing and do another instrument at the same time (and you will get bonus points for that, FYI!)
3. easy difficulty is likely going to be banned. We want a lot of people to play, but easy just isn't gonna cut it to make an entertaining tournament.
Scoring and Judging:
You will be given scores based on technical aspects and performance aspects. We have a judging rubric made up, so scoring will be fair and not randomly assigned.
Things to keep in mind:
- we are not looking at your final score, only your percents and if you gold star the song or not (so playing Foreplay and trying to get a really high score isn't going to benefit you)
- there will be weighted scores (ie expert will get more points than hard)
- crowd reaction and our reaction will be taken into account for your performance grade
- try to work with each other and mess around with each other on stage, it's Rock BAND after all.
notes:
-A full list of songs will be posted (or I'll link to a google docs spreadsheet) here and at the con so you can look at what we have a available (FYI - all RB 1 and 2 songs plus a lot of DLC) and see the song times so you can plan on timing out a 2 song set if you feel like it.
-guitar is going to be the only wireless instrument, unfortunately. For bass and the mic, though, we're gonna try to get extension cords to provide some flexibility.
